During vigorous exercise, on the cellular level, cells are being deprived of oxygen, which results in the mitochondria going through anaerobic respiration. In this process glucose molecules are oxidised incompletely as it is done in the scarcity of oxygen. Lactic acid is produced during this process which causes muscle soreness.

this is actually a case of oxygen debt
oxygen debt means that insufficient inhalation of oxygen than usual
so what happen is tissues take oxygen from blood making it deoxygenated thus a person takes oxygen from blood this particular process is called tissue respiration
the loss of oxygen in our body is recovered by proper rest and sleep
hoping it may help u
