The resistance of conductor is directly proportional to length and inversely proportional to area of cross section. When the length is doubled the area of cross section also gets doubled.

Resistance of a conductor is inversely proportional to the cross section of a conductor

The relationship is given below-

Resistance - Resistivity * (Length / Area)

✪All other parameters remaining same, if cross section is reduced to half , then the resistance will be double.
