What happens to sugar when it is dissolved in water? where does the sugar go? what information do you get about the nature of matter from the dissolution of sugar in water

When sugar is dissolved in water it diffuses and spreads in the water as there is some gap in the intermolecular spaces in water.
The sugar goes into the gaps and cannot be seen this property is called diffusion which is highly present in gaseous state

When sugar is dissolved its constituent molecules first separate from its crystal this Sugar molecules get into the inter-molecuar space and this is what we call as dissolution.
