we know that :
Area of square = a ×a = a² sq. unit
Case (1st)
if the length of side is halved
=> side of square = a/2
And
Area = (a/2)² = a²/4
Area become one by fourth of Area when length of side is halved.
Case (2nd)
if length of side is doubled
=> side = 2a
=> Area of square = (2a)² = 4a²
Area become 4 times when side of square is doubled.
