What happens to the area of a square if its side is (i) doubled (ii) halved?

Answer:

if side is doubled its area become four times

and

if side is halved it's area become four times less than original

Explanation:

Area of square normally is a²

(i) If the side is doubled It becomes to 2a

Then the area becomes (2a)²

so , the new area is 4a².

(ii) If the side is halved (a/2)

Then the area (a/2)²

so , the new area a²/4.
