what happens to the area of the square when its side is tripled?

Area of square = side * side

let the side be x

area of square = x square

if side is tripled then new side = 3x

new area = 3x * 3x

new area = 9x square

if we compare both area's then we find that if side is tripled then the are becomes 9 times the original

area will be:-

x*x

x^2

if tripled.

let the side be=3x cm

area will be:-

3x*3x

9x^2

so,

the area will get 9 times of the original area
