what happens to the coloured
liquid if seedlings respire?

Answer:

Due to respiration, carbon dioxide that is produced is absorbed by the KOH in the test tube. Due to consumption of oxygen, a space is developed causing the colored water to rise in the tubing.It is because the seeds die once they are boiled and hence cannot undergo respiration.
