What happens to the energy during its transfer from producers to apex consumers?Does it remain trapped in the apex consumer?Does it remain in the body of apex consumer till it's death?

For example, if producers have 100% energy, then 10%, 1%, 0.1%, and so on transfer to the primary, secondary, tertiary consumers, and so on, respectively.
