what happens to the energy during its transfer from the producers to Apex consumers? does it remain trapped in the apex consumer ? does it remain in the body of apex consumers till its death ? ​

In the food chain the transfer of energy from producer to consumer follow the rule of 10% transfer of energy. It means that only the 10% of the energy bill transferred from first stage to the second stage and so on.

The energy remains trapped In the Apex consumer till its death, when its body starts to decompose or gets burnt all the energy is released. All the green plants are considered as producers and all the heterogeneous animals are considered as consumers.

Heterogeneous animals are those which cannot prepare their own food and are dependent on others.  In the food chain the consumer which Gates to eat the producer directly, gets the higher energy as compared to the other consumers which are later in the chain.
