Answer:-
When distance bewteen two objects is increased 5 times, then the gravitational force is decreased by 25 times.
Explanation:-
By Newton's Universal Law of Gravitation, we know that:-
=> F = GMm/r² ----[1]
Where:-
• F is gravitational force
• G is Universal Gravitational Constant
• M is mass of the 1st object
• m is the mass of the 2nd object
• r is the distance between the objects
Now, when the distance between the objects is increased 5 times i.e. 5r, then the new gravitational force (F'), will be :-
=> F' = GMm/(5r)²
=> F' = GMm/25r² ---[2]
On dividing eq.2 by eq.1, we get :-
=> F'/F = [GMm/25r²]/[GMm/r²]
=> F'/F = 1/25
=> F' = F/25
