In a parallel circuit, current flows through more than one channel.

Explanation:

  • Therefore, connection to each bulb will be independent and the other bulbs will not be affected. In the broken bulb the circuit will be open, resulting in increase in the flow of current to the other circuits in parallel connection.
  • However, in a series connection/circuit, since the flow of current occurs only through one channel, if one bulb is broken, the other good ones will not work too.
