all the particles will gain enough energy from it's surrounding and it will skip liquid state and directly changes into gaseous state by the process of sublimation.

"When energy is transferred todry ice, the solid carbon dioxide does not melt to liquid carbon dioxide. Instead, the solid changes directly to a gas. This process is called sublimation. Sublimationoccurs when molecules of a solid move fast enough to overcome the attractions from other molecules and become a gas."

Hope this may help you..........
