Answer:

If stomata are closed in plant then the plant will not be able to exchange the gases like carbon dioxide and oxygen and then due to this they will be not able to perform photosynthesis and then will naturally die because of no food and nutrients.

Answer:

When the stomata close, CO2 levels drop rapidly within the leaf, inhibiting the light-independent reactions. This then causes photosynthesis to stop. If the photosyntheseis stops then the plant will die because it cant breath without photosnthesis.

During the day, stomata close if the leaves experience a lack of water, such as during a drought. The opening or closing of stomata occur in response to signals from the external environment. Closure of stomata by drought is caused by abscisic acid, a plant hormone that is synthesized in response to drought.

Three different environmental factors affect the opening and closing of a plant stoma: light, water and carbon dioxide concentrations. Plant stomata close in darkness and when conditions are very dry. Since plant cells need carbon dioxide for photosynthesis, carbon dioxide concentrations are another key factor.
