Answer:

In bright light, the circular muscles contract whilst the radial muscles relax. This causes the pupil to constrict and less light enters the eye. In dim conditions the opposite occurs. The circular muscles relax and the radial muscles contract, causing the pupil to dilate and allowing more light to pass into the eye.Stimulation of the autonomic nervous system's sympathetic branch, known for triggering "fight or flight" responses when the body is under stress, induces pupil dilation. Whereas stimulation of the parasympathetic system, known for "rest and digest" functions, causes constriction.

Hey! Here is your answer,

When you wake up in a dark room your eyes constrict to allow less light into your eye.
