Increasing in temperature of ittake air will cause less volumetric efficiency as the density of air intake goes down. This will cause an overall decrease in efficiency.Higher intake temperature for CI engine will reduce the ignition lag of fuel. Detonation will be reduced.NOx formation will be increased
For efficiency, obviously it will go down. Again CI engine is Operated in very lean A/F mixture. So a few degree increase in intake air temperature will not hamper the efficiency too much.
