What happens to the sodium chloride structure when high pressure is applied to it?

<u > It induces lattice defect. Because when we apply pressure the constituent particles come closer whichmeans they have shifted from their original position(lattice point). And when you increase temperature, thermal energy among particles increase so they move apart, again shifting from original position. So it shows thermodynamic defect.
