If the field is not ploughed before sowing then
1.There will be soil crumps left which will not allow proper growth of plants.
2.There will be no proper nutrients in the soil for the plants to utilize

If soil is not ploughed then--
1)-No-till farming could increase farm yield and ease climate change. But there's a catch.
2)-Water and air holding capacity of soil will be poor.
