What happens to the value of a fraction if the denomination

4

I would say the original fraction is 1/4. This is my reasoning:

If the numerator is increased by 200%, twice the original number was added to the original number (2x + x = 3, x = 1). So the original numerator is 1.

If the denominator is increased by 250%, 2.5 times the original number was added to the original number (2.5x + x = 14, x = 4). So the original denominator is 4.

I'm not sure this is the mot conventional way to solve this problem, but I'm on a plane with no paper and only my phone calculator, so this was the easiest way to visualize the mental math.

If this was a homework question, good luck!
