1st case;
velocity= v1
mass = m1
Ke= Ke1
2nd case;
velocity = v2
mass = 4m1
Ke=ke2
ke1= ke2
( since Ke is constant)
now;
ke1 = 1/2m1× v1^2
ke2= 1/2 4m1× v2^2
equating ke1 and ke2
1/2m1× v1^2 = 1/2 4m1× v2^2
( cancelling 1/2 and m1)
v1^2= 4v2^2
v1^2/v2^2 = 4/1
taking square roots both sides;
v1/v2= 2
therfore ;
v1= 2v2
hence, if the mass is made 4 times then the velocity will double...
