case i
let edge of cube = a units
then volume= (a)cube
= a^3 cubic units.
case ii
when edge of cube is doubled,
then edge of cube = 2a units
so volume of cube = (2a) cube
= 8a^3 cubic units.
now comparing the volume of both the cases we get that volume of cube is increased by 8 cubic units.
