It disappears. There are many ways it might disappear:
If you’re bad at keeping things safe, you might lose it.
If you’re good at keeping things safe but are surrounded by bad company, it might get stolen.
If you’re good at keeping things safe and have a good company, then the pencil will get smaller and smaller as you sharpen it until it is too small to be sharpened. Then, it cannot be used anymore. This final stage of a pencil is called the ‘Gandhiji pencil’. You might ask why it is called so. It was told by my teachers that because Gandhiji was a person who doesn’t waste things. But in my opinion, he’s just stingy.
