What happens when 1 bromobutane is heated with alcoholic koh?

Answer: It will follow Beta-Elimination Reaction. When 1-bromobutane is heated with alcoholic KOH then it forms butene as major product.

Ch₂-Ch₂-Ch₂-Ch₃ + KOH(alch.) ⇒ Ch₂=Ch-Ch₂-Ch₃ + H₂O + KBr
