What happens when 5% alkaline potassium permanganate solution is added drop by drop to warm propyl alcohol (propanol) taken in a test tube? Explain with the help of a chemical Equation. Anybody pls answr this qstn for me........​

This is oxidation reaction.

C3H7OH --------> C2H5COOH

The alkaline potassium permanganate (KMnO4) acts as a catalyst here.
