Answer. If a body happens to leave earth's gravitational field then it will float in the space as there is vacuum. ... The astronauts are weightless only because they are orbiting the earth too, with the space station orbiting at the same speed around them.

When a body leaves the gravitational field it loses the force of gravity and is said to have entered the anti gravitational field. it is now capable of moving wherever it wants and can even stay up above the lower surface without being pulled down. it requires a huge amount if force to overcome gravity.
