Please brainleist me if you liked the answer or it helped you

Explanation:

(a) When dilute sulphuric acid is poured on a copper plate, no reaction takes place due to less reactivity of copper. (b) When iron nails are placed in a copper sulphate solution, the blue colour of the sopper sulphate solution changes to green, due to the displacement of copper in copper sulphate by iron.

Question given:-

To give the observation on,

  • a)dilute sulphuric acid is poured on a copper plate?
  • b)iron nails are placed in copper sulphate solution?

Answer:-

a)Whenever the dilute sulphuric acid is poured on a copper plate then the copper metals get reacts with sulphuric acid and forms hydrogen gas.

Equation:

Cu(copper) + H2So4(sulphuric acid) ⟹ CuSo4(copper sulphate) + H2(hydrogen gas)

b)When the iron is placed in copper sulphate solution, iron displaces copper as iron is more reactive. In this reaction the blue colour of copper sulphate fades and there is deposition of copper on the iron nail.

Equation:

Fe(iron) + CuSo4(copper sulphate) ⟹ FeSo4(iron sulphate) + Cu(copper)
