The anhydrous copper sulphate (white) changes to blue hydrated copper sulphate.

The equation -

CuSO4(anhydrous white) + H2O => CuSO4(hydrated blue)

The water molecules are absorbed by the sulphate.The anhydrous copper sulphate changes to hydrated copper sulphate.

CuSO4 . 5H2O ------> CuSO4 + 5H2O + heat
