When a force is applied on the object from its adjacent sides, it will surely displace the object on the direction of the force, As we know that adjacent sides are Two lines that meet at a polygon vertex...And if we imagine that the angle of polygon is the mass of that given object...It can be assumed that it will displace it on the direction of the force.
