WHAT HAPPENS WHEN -
A] iron nails are placed in copper sulphate solution ?
B] a piece of copper metal is placed in a test tube containing dilute hydrochloric acid .

A. Since Iron is more reactive than copper, it displaces copper from its sulphate solution. The chemical equation for the reaction is-
Fe(II) + CuS O_{4} = FeS O_{4} + Cu 

B. Single displacement reaction will occur.
Cu + 2HCl = CuC l_{2}  H_{2}
