when we touch the leaves of the nettle plant, formic acid ( HCOOH) is injected in our body , the formic acid that is injected is the reason for the pain and irritation.

the most common remedy is by rubbing the area with a dock plant that usually grows right behind the nettle plant , so next time you go trekking you know exactly what to look for if u are stung by  a nettle plant

this is your answer:
when a nettle bites it releases methanol acid in the body which causes a huge pain.
it can be neutralized by using a base like sodium hydrogen carbonate or baking soda
hope it helps
