What happens when a non metallic oxide reacts with acid ?

Non-metallic oxides are acidic in nature, thus, they will react with bases to form salt and water. They do not react with acids. Non-Metallic oxide + Base → Non-Metal salt + water Ca(OH)2 + CO2 → CaCO3 + H2O.
