When parking lot is made in a wetlands area, less precipitation occurs in the area because it has no place to be absorbed by the ground. Rain percolates through the pavement into the ground below causing cracks in the pavement.......

as wet area does not provide a strong base for concrete it may sink anytime. however it may take a lot of years but eventually, it will sink. this sink may be sudden resulting  a sinkhole in the earth
