Answer: RBC ( red blood cell) will shrink when kept in concentrated saline solution.

Saline solution is a hypertonic solution as compared to the fluid of the RBC as the concentraton of solute ( salt) particles is very high in the saline solution.

This means that there will be flow of water from inside inside RBC to the outside in the saline water as through osmosis water always flows from a medium of low solute concentration to a medium where the solute concentration is high. As a result, RBC will shrink.
