Bases react with certain metals like zinc or aluminum for example to produce hydrogen gas.
Acids react with most metals to form a salt and hydrogen gas.

Hey! Your answer-

When acid reacts with metal it forms salt and hydrogen gas..
1. acid + metal --> salt + hydrogen
e.g. H2SO4 + Mg --> MgSO4 + H2

When bases(alkali) reacts with metal it forms salt and hydrogen gas..
2. bases + metal --> salt + hydrogen
e.g. NaOH + Zn --> Na2ZnO2 + H2

Hope it helps!!
