Solution:
- An object that moves because of the action of gravity alone is said to be free falling.
- The acceleration of free-falling objects is called the acceleration due to gravity since objects are pulled towards the centre of the earth.
As the object is just dropped, the initial velocity is 0.
- Due to gravity the object accelerates (positive acceleration) and results the body to continuous increment in velocity of the body.
Examples:
- A stone dropped down an empty well.
- A ball dropped from the top of a tower.
...etc...
