When dry apricots are left for sometime in pure water, they will swell. Because, water will enter into them through the process of osmosis. Later, when these apricots will betransferred to sugar solution, they will again shrink.

Answer:
Dry Apricot will swell up due to endosmosis and when transfer to sugar solution they shrink due to exosmosis.
Concept:-
- Osmosis is the movement of water through a selectively permeable.
- Endosmosis is process occur when the internal cell organelles have less things like salt than the external surrounding means the solution should be hypotonic solution.
- Exosomosis occur when the solution have less thing in compare to the cell then the solution is hypertonic solution.
