When Barium Chloride solution is mixed with Sodium Sulphate solution. a white precipitate of Barium sulphate will be immediately formed as a result of double displacement reaction.

In this reaction, Cl component of Barium Chloride (Cl- ions) and SO4 component of Sodium Sulphate (SO4^2- ions) have been displaced. We can also say that these ions have exchanged positions to form new compounds.
