Answer:

When alkali (base) reacts with metal, it produces salt and hydrogen gas. Example: Sodium hydroxide gives hydrogen gas and sodium zincate when reacts with zinc metal. Sodium aluminate and hydrogen gas are formed when sodium hydroxide reacts with aluminium metal.

Answer:

when base react with metal then metal salt and hydrogen gas are formed

ex:

# take few piece of zink granules in boiling tube

# add sodium hydroxide solution in it

# pass the bubbles evolved in a soap solution

# now pass it through burning candle

you will get a pop sound which indicates that yhe gas formed is hydrogen

equation; 2NaOH + Zn ____> Na2ZnO2 + H2
