When Carbon dioxide gas is compressed at room temperature and the pressure is suddenly released, then it solidifies to form dry ice which is also known as solid carbon dioxide.
It directly converts from solid state to gaseous state without melting to liquid state. For this reason, it is used to make smoke effect in staged dance and also used to keep ice-cream cool.
Hope this helps you dear!!!
