Follwing reactions occurs :

☞ CaCO3(s) + H2SO4 (l)---> H2CO3 + CaSO4 (s)

☞ H2CO3 ----> H2O + CO2

Also:

The Hydrogen ion on the Sulfuric Acid combines with Carbonate to break the Carbonate down into water and Carbon Dioxide.
