Chlorobenzene is subjected to hydrolysis. Chlorobenzene does not undergo hydrolysis under normal conditions. However, it undergoes hydrolysis when heated in an aqueous sodium hydroxide solution at a temperature of 623K and a pressure of 300 atm to form phenol.
