Magnesium (Mg) is a more reactive metal than the copper (Cu) in the aqueous copper (II) sulfate. ... The overall reaction is: Mg(s) + CuSO4(aq) --> MgSO4(aq) + Cu(s); the magnesium, because it is more reactive than copper, displaces it. The blue solution will turn reddish black with the introduction of Mg.

✍️✍️ANSWER:-

✍️If Magnesium is placed in Copper Sulfate solution, a single replacement reaction occurs.

✍️ Copper solid is displaced and the magnesium loses electrons to copper ions.

✍️This is the case because Magnesium is more reactive than the metal Copper in CuSO4.
