When a strip of copper metal( in the form of a wire) is released in thesolution of silver nitrate, copper being a more reactive metal than silverdisplaces silver from its compound by forming copper nitrate with a shiny greyish white deposit of silver on thecopper strip.
hope it will help you.....

Heya☺

Cu + AgNO3 -----. CuNO3 + Ag

I.e. copper displaces silver from silver nitrate and form copper nitrate .

This reaction is known as single displacement reaction.
