What happens when de-shelled egg is placed in hypertonic solution?

Hi,

The cell will shrink due to exosmosis. Now, the egg is covered with only semipermeable membrane. When the egg is placed in a salt solution, (hypertonic solution), exosmosis occurs the the egg shrinks due to loss of water to the surrounding. If the water concentration inside the cell is higher than the surrounding medium, the medium is said to be hypertonic solution. here the number of water molecules diffusing out will be more than the molecules entering the cell.
