When dilute hydrochloric acid is added to the compound of Iron sulphide, it releases hydrogen sulphide gas.
It smells bad like the smell of rotten eggs.

When dilute hydrochoric acid is added to iron sulphide, it will be a double displacement reaction which leads to the formation of hydrogen sulphide gas which smells like rotten eggs.
