What happens when dilute sulphuric acid is poured on a copper plate?

Cu+ H2SO4(dil.)➡CuSO4 + SO2 +H2O

When dil. H2SO4 is poured over Cu plate then nothing will happen to the plate as copper is less reactive than H2 in the metal activity series and cannot displace H2 from acid .Thus the acid can be easily stored in the plate.
