Copper does not react with dilute H2so4 ,as it is less reactive than hydrogen...as placed in the reactivity series .so no reaction takes place but when concentrated h2so4 is poured over the copper plate then hydrogen effervescence is observed ....because when ;
metal+acid- salt + hydrogen gas is formed which can be tested by bringing a burning matchstick,here hydrogen gas burns with a pop sound
