Heya !!!

Here's your answer !!!

➡ When the dry apricots are kept in water , they swell up by absorbing water by the process called ENDOSMOSIS ....

The concentration of the apricots is Higher than the concentration of water , hence the water from low concentration move to the high concentration....

Hence, water enters the apricots by ENDOSMOSIS and swell up...

➡ When the swollen apricots are kept in sugar solution , they shrink by losing water by the process called EXOSMOSIS ...

The concentration of apricots is lower than the concentration of sugar solution , hence the water from apricots move into the solution...

Hence , the apricots lose water by EXOSMOSIS and shrink....

Hope this helps you :)

Answer:

Explanation:

Dry apricots have more solutes than pure water. Hence, the endosmosis, i.e., water molecules will move from outside to the inside of the apricot through the wall of apricot. Due to this, apricots will swell eventually. When such apricots are transferred to the sugar solution, then the solution will be the hypertonic bearing high amount of solute. Hence, exosmosis, i.e., water will move from inside to the outside of apricot through the apricot wall.  Due to this, apricot will shrink
