so when CaCO3 +HNO3 ----- > CaNO3 +H2O +H2O

When egg shell(calcium carbonate) is added to nitric acid it reacts to form carbon dioxide, calcium nitrate and water.

Chemical reaction is:

CaCO3(s) + 2HNO3(g) → Ca(NO3)2(s) + CO2(g) + H2O(g)
