When ethanol or ethyl alcohol is heated in presence of concentrated sulphuric acid then it forms ethene and water
C2H5OH ---conc.H2SO4----> CH2CH2 + H2O

When ethanol is heated with excess amount of concentrated sulphuric acid then it will give out ethene and water.
The concentratic H2SO4 is known as dehydrating agent and it gives unsaturated hydrocarbon.
Chemical equation can be written as :-
C2H5OH + CONC. H2SO4 = C2H4 + H2O
