what happens when excess of hcl is added to test tube containing sodium hydroxide and few drops of phenolphthalein

It may burst if conc this may happen becuse of the chemucal reaction so i say u must never try that if u want to live further

Answer:

U know that phenolphthalein is an indicator which indicates the presence of a base in a solution. And we very well know that NaOH is a base , so firstly the solution would be of pink colour. But it is also a fact that phenolphthalein doesn't show any change of color when mixed with an acid, and also HCl is an acid. So, when this HCl is added in the solution at a high rate , the pink colour of the initial soln will turn white.
